Hemet Cam Question

tonight i was at the Otters game vs OWEN SOUND and wasn't on tv or anything and one referee had still that Hemet Cam, do referees normally do like a practice game before i a Sportnet game ? because i know this week it's PBO @ GUE on Friday Night Hockey

Sportsnet does not used the helmet cam on their Jr. coverage. Most likely for a ref training video.

i seen the helmet cam on referees on before on Sportnet broadcast before, but never in use! maybe they are just training

They are most likely GoPros and are for training. The ref camera used for the NHL games looks different than a regular camera.

could be Park or Reid........I believe they have minimal eyesight.

If it was for a training,that one it would be most valuable as a HOW NOT TO CALL A GAME.

They're not alone in that. There seem to be more Ref's with that "selective" vision, than there are with normal eyesight.
Used to be the other way around, but it may now be a part of the job qualifications.

If the instigator rule is killing hockey now, having to fight every time you throw a clean hit would kill hockey even faster.
